Event: DOMASO HOSTS TOP DOG HALF-SMOKE CHALLENGE

On Sunday, May 1st from 3-5PM, Domaso, a Kimpton Restaurant, is hosting its first annual Top Dog Half-Smoke Challenge, a charity fundraiser in which 11 renowned area chefs will showcase their interpretations of DC’s iconic local dish.
 
Admission is $20 per person, and includes samples of all half-smokes, a signature Skyy Vodka cocktail, tax and gratuity. Additional beverages, including a variety of offerings from Flying Dog Brewery as well as Whitehaven Wine Company and Don Miguel Gascon Wines, will also be available at additional cost. 100% of the proceeds will benefit Brainfood, the Washington, DC-based non-profit youth development organization.
 
11 chefs will donate their time and products to participate in Domaso’s Top Dog Challenge: Victor Albisu, BLT Steak; Nathan Anda, Red Apron Butchery; Danny Bortnick, Firefly; John Critchley, Urbana; Scott Drewno, The Source by Wolfgang Puck; Liam LaCivita, Liberty Tavern/Lyon Hall; Dennis Marron, Jackson 20/The Grille at Morrison House; Peter Smith, PS 7's; Chris Watson, BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier; and Ed Witt, 701 Restaurant.
 
Two awards will be presented at the conclusion of the event: a prize to the winner of the popular vote, and the title of Top Dog, awarded by a panel of judges that includes Mike Isabella, Chef/Owner Graffiato and Runner-up on Top Chef All-Stars, Robert Rollins from Ben’s Chili Bowl and Ben’s Next Door; Tim Carman from The Washington Post and Nycci Nellis from TheListAreYouOnIt.com.
 
The Top Dog Half-Smoke Challenge will take place on the terrace at Domaso, located at the Hotel Palomar, 1121 North 19th Street in Arlington, Virginia. Hotel Palomar is located two blocks from the Rosslyn Metro, accessible via the blue and orange lines. Street and valet parking are also available.
