I'm happy to say that I had my first Cajun Experience and I'll be back for more. Tucked away, down the stairs, you'll find the restaurant right next to Lauriol Plaza. Listen to live music from New Orleans band Zachary Smith and the Dixie Power Trio and enjoy patio seating out back.
I liked the gator bites (tasted like chicken). The crawfish boil was fun, but like crabs, the crawfish require a lot of effort for a little meat. Maybe not for the pros...(the staff could snap the heads and remove the meat with ease). It is a great activity to try at least once this summer.
Frog legs: there's a first time for everything...I didn't want to like them, but I did. The frog meat also tasted like chicken.
The po boys, gumbo, and shrimp toast all had great flavor with a kick.
Love the Abita beer. My favorite is the Purple Haze. The restaurant also offers a cocktail selection including: Hurricanes, Grenades, and Dark and Stormy drinks.

The prices are right and the food is tasty so stop in and partake in the Cajun Experience. Now I want to take a trip to New Orleans.
