This new oyster is raised in the Nomini Creek area of Westmoreland County Virginia, on the western shore, which has one of the lowest salinity estuaries within the Chesapeake Bay. This low salinity allows for a unique sweet flavor that produces one of the finest half shell, baked or fried oysters. Dragon Creek has 35 acres of water rights and has set over 750,000 oyster spat in the past six years. The company also has an Aquaculture farm that was started as a means to help save the Chesapeake Bay and raise oysters.
