Without a doubt, Taste of Georgetown is one
of the DC's finest and among my personal favorites. You're invited to sample world class food offerings from some of
the finest eateries in the District. On Saturday, June 2, 2012 from
11am - 4pm, Georgetown Business Improvement District hosts the 19th
annual installment of the food and drink street festival located on
Wisconsin Avenue stretching from M Street to K Street.
Taste of
Georgetown features 60 dishes from 30 of the neighborhood's most popular
restaurants. For those new to the event, be sure to try festival
favorites from Mie N Yu, Filomena Ristorante, Bodega Spanish Tapas and Lounge, and Georgetown Cupcake. For the returning foodfest lovers, enjoy new flavors from soon-to-open Shut Your Pie Hole as well as all your old favorites. For a full list of participants check out the official event website. Food tasting tickets are $5 for one and $20 for five and can be purchased at the event or in advance on the website.
Already full after a few bites? Be sure to check out one of my favorite parts of the event, the Wine, Ale and Spirits Tasting Pavilion. Here you can mingle with friends, enjoy live jazz from the legendary Blues Alley,
and sample craft beers, wines and cocktails. Drink tickets are only
$10 for three or $4 for one and as with the food tickets, proceeds go to
the Georgetown Ministry Center's services supporting the homeless.
Stay
posted to the Capital Cooking Show blog for an upcoming more detailed
preview of the food you can find at this year's Taste of Georgetown.
