On
Monday, May 21, 2012, the American Lamb Jam tour will stop in
Washington DC for the second annual cooking competition, hosted by 94.7 Fresh FM’s
Tommy McFly. I'll be one of the judges for the event. It is sure to be a Lambtastic Time!
From 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., 18 top local chefs
will converge at Eastern Market to create luscious lamb dishes paired
with local beer and wine and compete for bragging rights and the
opportunity to battle other top lamb loving chefs at a Master Lamb Jam
competition at Savor the Central Coast
in San Luis Obispo, California on Sunday, September 30. Guests will
learn about lamb through a butchery demonstration and honored chefs will
take home awards for “Best in Show” in each of four cut categories,
including leg, loin, shank and shoulder and a “People’s Choice” award,
determined by attending fans of lamb.
Participating restaurants include: 701, AGAINN, Bibiana, Bistro 525, Boxcar Tavern, Bourbon Steak, Cava Mezze, Eric Ripert's West End Bistro at Ritz Carlton, Granville Moore, ICI Urban Bistro, Jackson 20 & Grille at The Morrison House, Max Fox Brewing Company, Occidental Grill & Seafood, Oyamel Cocina Mexicana, Poste Moderne Brasserie, PS 7’s, Urbana, and Vidalia.
Participating beverages / breweries include: Jefferson’s Bourbon, Flying Dog Brewery, Heavy Seas Brewery, Milbrandt Vineyards, Boxwood Estate Winery, Mad Fox Brewing Company, Cardinal Vineyard & Winery, Chocolate City Beer and more to be announced. Mixologist Gina Chersevani will be mixing up a surprise Lamb Jam drink and fans of lamb will be able to taste liquid gold from Sapore Oil & Vinegar and cure sweet cravings with sheep-themed treats from Georgetown Cupcake.
