Top 10 Spots for Outdoor Drinks

Labor Day has passed, but this is the perfect time of year to sit outside to enjoy drinks with friends. Here are some of my favorites:
  • El Chucho:  You can't beat the $5 margs!  There is limited outdoor seating so get there early.  Great spot for people watching.
  • Masa 14:  Their new rooftop rocks.  Take advantage of it and grab one of their amazing mojitos!
  • Bar Pilar:  From classics to new creative cocktails, they have it all.  Snag a table outside and sip away.

  • Hank's Oyster Bar (Capitol Hill):  Gina's got a whole new menu to wow you!  Try the Pirate Riot or one of house made soda floats.

  • Johnny's Half Shell:  Suck down a Climate Change during happy our and relax outside in their extra large patio.
  • Cafe Dupont:  Cafe Dupont offers a large patio with French influenced fare from Chef Silvan Kraemer.  The Thyme Gimlet is light and refreshing.
  • El Centro D.F.: Great roof deck for drinking margaritas and sangria.
  • Standard:  Great BBQ and hush puppies.  Also, check out the massive beers.  U Street/Shaw
  • ADC:  Situated  on the rooftop of Donovan House, ADC has amazing views and specialty cocktails.  A selection of the Zentan menu is also available at ADC.
  • American Ice Co:  Warning:  This place gets super crowded.  If you manage to snag a seat, American Ice is a fun place to sit outside for BBQ and beer.  Perfect spot to stop before heading to the 9:30 club.(202) 758-3562
  • RedRocksRedRocks is a cute Columbia Heights neighborhood spot that is great to enjoy some outside patio time.  The brick oven pizza is outstanding.  The patio is the perfect place to sip beer and eat pizza.
