Eat With Your Eyes: Slow Roasted Pork Cazuelas

Is your mouth watering? It should be! El Centro D.F. opened its second location in Georgetown. While the menu maintains some of the signature dishes from its 14th Street sister, it added some new winners.

My favorite dish was the Slow Roasted Pork Cazuelas. The pork melts in your mouth and I loved the sweetness of the corn masa (almost like a corn pudding) to compliment it. You'll find over 270 different types of tequila and mezcal, handcrafted margaritas and classic Latin cocktails.
When in Rome.  The tequila flights are a must-try!
El Centro had 4 variations of guacamole.  We tried the bacon, but I still prefer the Traditional.
New taco selections include Vuelve a la Vida with octopus, shrimp, chorizo, and tomatillo salsa; Roasted Octopus with rojas, pico de gallo and chile de รกrbol sesame salsa, as well as Gratineed Scallop & Chorizo, made with avocado, pickled chiles and chile cascabel aioli.
Loved the creativeness of this dessert with an edible cigar.
Stop in soon to try your old favorites and the new additions.  For more information or to make reservation please call (202) 333-4100 or visit www.elcentrodf.com.
