Around the Globe: London

Chowzter features the tastiest fast feast from around the globe. You can find all of the best food in global cities all on the website. I helped Chowtzer with the DC dishes and Chowtzer hosted all of the chiefs for a weekend of fun and awards!

How to travel: With a quick hop across the pond, you can find yourself in the beautiful city of London. British airways has direct flights from DC.  Watch out with your luggage... my shopping purchases got stolen from my suitcase on the flight back.

Where to stay: The Hoxton Hotel is one of the hippest places to sleep in Shoreditch. You might miss some of the comforts of complementary body lotion and hair conditioner, but the hotel makes up for it with great service and a lively atmosphere.

Where to eat:

The Hoxton Grill:  Fun spot with delicious Mac 'n cheese.
Flat Iron Steak:  Amazing Wagyu beef. The line wrapped around the building to get a table there.
Fish Central:  Rated the best fish and chips in the world.
L'Anima:  Delicious Italian food including homemade pastas and more.
Bones: Great spot in Shoreditch to grab drinks.

What to do:  A visit to Borough Market is a welcome treat in the city of London. Your findings fresh produce, charcuterie, artisan cheeses, and wonderful take-away food. You can get lost for hours and the beautiful market.

Book of Mormon:  We splurged and bought tickets to Book of Mormon. The show was hilarious and well worth seeing. If you get the chance, book and theater tickets.

Shopping on Oxford Street:  London has some of that shopping. I was lucky enough to find some great buys. Unfortunately, someone stole my new purchases out of my suitcase on the way back. Boo!
The British Museum:  You must check out the mummy exhibit from Egypt.  It is outstanding!
All in all, London is a fabulous city.  You can be there in 7 hours from DC to soak in a bit of the European lifestyle.  Thanks Chowzter for bringing together such a great group of foodies!
