Normally DC's weather this time of year is unbearable... but, not this year! We made the most out of our weekend in the city and enjoyed some great times outdoors.
We started with a homecoming dinner to welcome our friends' new baby, Lucas, home from the hospital. He's just so adorable.
Friday, we headed to Jelleff pool in Georgetown for some sun and fun. We grabbed a bite at El Centro and spent the evening on the South Lawn of the White House. El Centro's happy hour menu is awesome! I loved the sliders, guac and tacos.
Pitbull put on a high energy performance, but he was nowhere near as good as Fun's show last year. That said, watching the fireworks at Obama's house was pretty amazing.
Saturday, we started with brunch at Matchbox. The service was really slow, but I'm always a huge fan of their brunch pizza. Then we relaxed at our friends' pool in Shaw and caught the World Cup game at Dacha
Beer Garden. Good times. We finished the day with dinner at Garden District. Another fine day!
We ended the weekend with a bang... it began with brunch at Mintwood Place.
Their pancakes and breakfast sandwich were super yummy. Then we raced over to the Nats/Cubs game. Go Nats!
We kept the party going with some corn hole at The Fairgrounds.
We wrapped up the evening with some food at Bluejacket.
Have you been? I thought the food was only average. They have a great beer selection, but it seems more of a place to get a drink, rather than a food destination.
What did you do to celebrate? Hope your summer is going well!
