El Centro D.F.'s Destination:  Guadalajara Menu will take your taste buds on a trip to the Mexican metropolis.  Chef Richard Scandoval and his corporate chefs traveled to the region to learn the flavors of the city through full immersion.  The Guadalajara inspired menu items are infused into the regular lunch and dinner menus and will be available for your enjoyment through September 30th.
Delicious Guac

The featured cocktails include the Watermelon Cucumber Margarita and the Spina made with pineapple and chili ginger.

El Centro D.F. on 14th Street invited Capital Cooking to taste the new menu.  Luckily our visit coincided with the restaurant's Guacamole Festival as well.  The Guacamole Supremo with bacon, roasted corn, queso fresco and pumpkin seeds is so delicious you will want to lick the bowl.

From the Destination:  Guadalajara appetizers, the Shrimp Cocktail with citrus poached shrimp, cucumber, avocado, cilantro, serrano toreado, red onion and buffalo cocktail sauce is a delicious summer dish.  The Braised Beef Taquitos with crispy tortilla, chile morita salsa, cotija cheese, black bean puree and crema fresca make a yummy crunchy snack or starter to share.

A must try from the temporary menu additions is the Heirloom Tomato Salad with pickled corn salsa, avocado, fried goat cheese balls, cilantro and charred tomato vinaigrette.  This fresh dish celebrates the flavors of summer and is a great accompaniment to any entree on the menu.
I loved the Shrimp Quesadilla

The Vegetarian tacos with crispy cheese, mushroom, squash and grilled scallions are very tasty and filling.

While the desserts aren't Guadalajara inspired specifically, the Flan and Banana Tres Leches are sweet satisfaction.
