We had an incredible night at the 36th Annual RAMMY Awards Gala! Guests in ballgowns and black ties gathered to celebrate the ever-evolving local food community of Washington D.C.
The night was filled with incredible foods, with a menu featuring dishes from Argentina, Chile, Korea, Tunisia, and Peru.
Along with celebrating the bustling food and drink scene of the District, RAMW used the award ceremony as an opportunity to promote voting no on June 19th to Initiative 77. This DC ballot measure would eliminate what food workers live on… tips.
This year there were 21 award categories announced at the beautiful Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The selection process for the winners involved the voting public and an anonymous panel of volunteer judges, consisting of food and dining journalists, educators and foodservice industry professionals. The voting public decided the winners in four categories: Favorite Gathering Place of the Year, Upscale Brunch, Everyday Casual Brunch and Favorite Fast Bites.
