Uncorked: Top 6 White Wines to Sip this Summer

Tenshen White
I like a glass of white wine after a long day. During the summer, I love to sit in my backyard and pour something tasty. Here are some of my favorite whites to try:

Herdade São Miguel Colheita Seleccionada White 2017: This wine is a pretty citrus yellow color with hints of fresh, tropical fruits and white flowers. These aromas are well integrated with butter and coconut notes. It is fresh and lively with fine acidity and the distinctive mineral excellent minerality with a very pleasant finish. It is well-balanced, round and refreshing in taste.
Nobilissima Pinot Grigio (it just received a 90 points from Ultimate Beverage): Think of easy summer drinking when you think of Nobilissima Pinot Grigio. It is produced from one of Italy’s best-known DOC, Delle Venezie. An area proven to produce high-end Pinot Grigio, the appellation is characterized by a volcanic mineral-based soil and Mediterranean climate protected by the Alps, and influenced by the mild sea breezes. Delle Venezie includes the regions known as Tre Venezie, or “three Venices” – Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige.

Tenshen White 2016:  The 2016 White Wine from Tenshen is made from a blend of Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Chardonnay sourced from sites throughout the Central Coast. Brought up mostly in neutral barrels, with a small part in stainless, it offers rich, full-bodied aromas and flavors of buttered peach, tangerine, honeysuckle and flowers. Richly textured, balanced and with a clean, dry finish, it’s a terrific white Rhône blend readers should check out.  You'll find it on the sweeter side.
2016 Kung Fu Girl Riesling: It takes an unconventional winemaker to make a totally unexpected dry Riesling. One night, Charles was eating Chinese takeout and watching a fight scene in a notorious martial arts film when he had an idea: a killer white wine made to be paired with Asian food. Just like that, the 2016 Kung Fu Girl Riesling (SRP $12.99; available nationwide) was born. And it’s been kicking ass and taking names ever since. Give it a try and order in some tasty Chinese food.
Surf Swim Chardonnay:  The “Surf Swim” beach sign is much more than simple instructions; it is the symbol of never ending summer. Inspired by Southern California’s beach culture, Surf Swim offers sun ripe aromas of peaches, ocean cooled flavors of pineapple and finishes with waves of banana peels.
Quinta do Vallado Prima Moscatel 2014:  This unique white differs from other typical Moscatel wines due to its dryness. It has a very subtle aroma, with a floral burst of roses and peppermint. It has a dry, delicate mouthfeel, with floral flavors predominating, finishing fresh.
