Olympic Deals Around DC

Johnny’s Half Shell is getting into the Olympic spirit by offering a variety of British-inspired pub snacks throughout the London 2012 Olympics.  Guests can watch the games on the restaurant’s TVs at the newly renovated 95-seat, 1,000-sqaure-foot patio while enjoying British favorites such as Cucumber sandwich on crustless wheat bread; Scotch egg with zesty grain mustard sauce; Cheddar and stout Welsh rarebit on rye toast; Beer battered fish with chips and malt vinegar, as well as Ham and roasted fresh pork salad plate.  Pub snacks are priced at an affordable $2.50 each, and are available nightly exclusively on the patio from 4:30 PM until closing.  Runs now through Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 4:30 PM until closing.

BLT Steak’s Olympic Cocktails: To celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympics, downtown power spot, BLT Steak unveils $5 Olympian-worthy cocktails available throughout the Olympic Games. Washingtonians can view the Olympic Games from July 27th through August 12th at BLT Steak’s bar and imbibe three specialty cocktails, including The Gold Cocktail with Meyers Gold, fresh basil, orange juice, lemon juice, and a dash of Campari, The Silver Cocktail made with Milagro Silver, ginger-vanilla Syrup, lime and egg white and The Bronze Cocktail, with Makers Mark, a jasmine tea reduction with a splash of bitters. All cocktails are $5. BLT Steak’s Olympic Cocktails are available at the restaurant throughout the Olympic Games beginning Friday, July 27th through Sunday, August 12th. Food, Wine and Co.’s London Pub Menu:  Bethesda hot spot, Food, Wine and Co. is taking diners straight to London this summer, without the pricey air fare. To celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games, Food, Wine & Co. launches a special London-pub menu featuring delicious British favorites with an inventive twist. Chef Michael Harr gets creative in the kitchen, crafting up one of a kind dishes fit for the 2012 Olympic Games, including dishes such as: Braised Beef Brisket with Old Speckled Hen English Ale sliders and crispy pickled cabbage ($13), Beer Battered Fish & Chips made with Boddingtons Pub Ale and a gribiche sauce ($14) and Pub-Style Pork Scrapple with spicy fried pickles and a hen egg ($12). Fuel Pizza and Wings Go for the Gold Pizzas:  Celebrate team USA victories at DC’s newest pizzeria, Fuel Pizza. Fuel will be dishing up Go for the Gold Pizzas inspired by team USA, throughout the Olympic Games. The specialty pies are $10 and will be available during Happy Hour 4pm to 6pm every weekday by mentioning the USA team Gold Medal wins. Ping Pong Dim Sum has a Flaming Passion Fruit Martini with a flaming float of wray and nephew as its official drink for the Olympics this year.

From July 27 through August 12 all eyes will be across the pond, watching the 2012 Olympics and whether you want to catch up on what you missed over night or take in some of the day’s events, The Madison has you covered!  On July 27, watch Team U.S.A march in the opening ceremonies, beginning at 7:30 pm in the newly renovated Lobby Bar at PostScript while sipping on Rob Yealu’s London Fog Cutter made with London Dry Gin, Absinthe, Maraschino Liqueur and Kaffir Lime Leaves. The London Fog Cutter will be available from the opening ceremony on July 27 through the last event on August 12 and costs $13.  If you can’t make it for the opening ceremony, stop in for breakfast in PostScript and eat like a champion with The Madison Olympic Power Breakfast; an XXL Vegetable Egg White Omelet filled with spinach, mushrooms and broccoli served with sliced local tomatoes, minted berry salad and Greek yogurt layered with quinoa granola for $16.

Good Stuff Eatery will be dishing out the Goodness throughout the Olympic Games with their Signature Brit Burger. The Brit Burger is topped with caramelized onions, English smoked cheddar and a horseradish mayo. Wash the burger down with their Sticky Toffee Shake. The special burger and shake duo runs for the duration of the Olympic Games. Good Stuff Eatery will also be airing the games all day and night on their TVs. Good Stuff Eatery is open Monday-Sautrday 11:30am-11pm.


Stop by Capitol City Brewing Company, raise a glass for Team USA and catch the Olympic games on one of nine flat-screen TVs while feasting on a gold medal line-up of Olympic inspired specials.
