We recently filmed a new episode of Capital Cooking called, "Under the Tuscan Stars." I came up with a delicious recipe to go with the food. This Tuscan Lemon Drop has the perfect herbal-lemon flavor.
As seen on the “Under the Tuscan Stars” episode of Capital Cooking
1 shot Ventura Limoncello
1 shot Three Olives orange vodka
Juice of ½ lemon
1 shot of rosemary simple syrup
Ice
Rimming: 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary, lemon zest and 1 teaspoon sugar
Garnish: rosemary sprig
Fill a shaker with ice and add Ventura Limoncello, vodka, lemon juice, and rosemary simple syrup. Shake it. Put the rimming ingredients onto a plate. Rub a piece of lemon on the rim of a martini glass and dip the mouth of the glass into the rimming ingredients. Strain liquor into the glass and garnish with rosemary sprig.
Rosemary Simple Syrup
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves and then remove from heat. Add rosemary and cool. Store in a clear glass bottle or jar with a tight fitting lid in the refrigerator.

Rosemary simple syrup--what a great idea. I will try to incorporate that when I make this cocktail again, a Tuscan Sunset. http://eliotseats.com/?p=1071
I hope you like it. Thanks for the comment.
This drink looks so good. One they should serve at DC's Toscana Cafe www.bestdcitalianrestaurant.wordpress.com
I'll have to check that out. Thanks!
