DC Magazine Annual Nightlife Issue Party at The Frye Company

Drink, Eat, Relax at the Great Tastes of Tysons

The first annual Great Tastes of Tysons Wine & Food Festival was held from May 31-June 1, 2014 at Lerner Town Square at Tysons II. This festival had it all – celebrity Chef demonstrations, local vendors, wine, beer, spirits, and food, live music, and – bonus – beautiful Spring weather! I attended the festival on Sunday, June 1 and enjoyed the all-you-can sample affair.

Blue Duck Tavern's Fresh New Menu


Polar vortexes are behind us, warmer weather has finally come to D.C., and patios all around the city are open for business. The terrace at Blue Duck Tavern on the corner of 24th and M Street, N.W, is an ideal place to dine outside, nestled in the shade of the restaurant and adjacent to a beautiful blue-tile fountain. Executive chef Sebastien Archambault and Chef de Cuisine Daniel Singhofen have prepared a menu of the seasons finest ingredients from regional artisans and producers.

Lincoln's New Menu

Just like its sister restaurant, Teddy and the Bully Bar, Lincoln specializes in seasonal small plates with an emphasis on fresh and local ingredients.  Executive Chef Demetrio Zavala outdid himself once again by showcasing a selection of seasonal goodies for a selection of guests to taste.  The items were an sampling of some of the new spring items on the menu at Lincoln and were flavorful, colorful, and fresh.

On June 16th, Dock 5 at Union Market will host 24 of Washington's most creative and celebrated chefs, all of whom will cook table-side for groups of ten guests at the annual Chefs in the City event to benefit the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This year's theme is “Vibrant Flavors,” which will transform the new warehouse event space atop Union Market and feature menus showcasing the most vibrant flavors from around the world.

The Wine Kitchen on the Creek, in Frederick, MD, offers all this and more, with its extensive variety of wine flights, hand-crafted cocktails, spirits, and delicious food. Located in the heart of Frederick, enjoying a leisurely three-course lunch was a wonderful way to spend a recent Saturday afternoon.
