Tasty Bites at City Tap House

The busy Penn Quarter/Chinatown neighborhood is packed full of lots of dining options, including City Tap House, conveniently located near the Washington Convention Center.

The rustic beer tavern has much more than just an extensive beer menu and beer flights (featuring local brews such as Atlas, Flying Dog and Three Stars Brewing).

The tap house features some not-so-standard pub food that aims to please a variety of palates including honey goat cheese flatbread (yum!) and corn and crab hushpuppies.

The hushpuppies are a great Southern treat and a must have from the menu.
Dinner options range from traditional "meat and potato" dishes that pair well with beer to soft shell crab.  The pork tenderloin was outstanding, tender and succulent with a salty finish.

If you have room for dessert (hint:  try to save room, it's worth it!), focus on the cheesecake topped with strawberries. It's one of the best in the city.

Cheers!
