Things to do: Watergate Hotel Tea Time

Want to feel like you're back in London on that vacation instead of dealing with work obligations, the awful metro, and terrible weekend traffic? Go to the luxurious Watergate Hotel for an afternoon teatime this weekend!

The Watergate Hotel is now offering 1960s-inspired (with a contemporary twist) high-tea sessions on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. The afternoon tea program provides a mix of traditional and contemporary snacks and sweets made in their Award-winning Kingbird kitchen, a glass of champagne, and bottomless teas. Live piano by local musicians can be heard throughout teatime. There are over 30 teas to choose between, with Herbal, Green, Classic, White, Performance, and Iced tea options. Teatime is $50 for adults and $25 for children.

Afternoon Tea Menu:

  • Retro-inspired Sweets
  • Cranberry Orange Scones
  • Espresso Hazelnut Pot de Crème
  • Raspberry Shortbread Pop-Tart
  • Vanilla Panna Cotta
  •  Spiced Carrot Cake
  • Chocolate Ho-Ho

  • Savory Tea Sandwiches
  • Cucumber - watercress creme, fine herb jus
  • Black Truffled Quail Egg Salad - hackleback caviar
  • Smoked Salmon - preserved lemon tzatziki, salmon roe

Guests who are feeling extra fancy can order the 1949 Vintage Private Reserve Cave Aged tea, which has been aged for 75 years in the mountains of Yunnan China for an extra $350... yes, $350 for a cup of tea. If that seems a bit pricey, you can instead pay an additional $55 to try the 1982 Vintage Reserve Cave Aged Pu-erh tea instead (or just opt for all the amazing tea choices that are included!)

Reservations are required to attend afternoon tea.
