Perfect Pair: Summer Cucumbers and Capture Sauvignon Blanc

Tuesdays are all about pairing food and wine. Sauvignon Blanc has herbaceous notes so pairs well with green herbs, like dill. The name Sauvignon Blanc means "wild white." I absolutely love it for summer.

Just a Few of My Favorite Things: Hot Sauce

I am obsessed with all things spicy, but I am frequently unimpressed with everything I buy that markets themselves as "hot." Either it’s too mild, hot but flavorless, not appetizing, or filled with strange ingredients. However, last week I got to sample Poor Devil Pepper Co.’s Hot Sauce to get ready for the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City, North America’s largest specialty food and beverage event that displays a wide variety of innovative and new products, and I fell in love.

June, the time of the year for graduation festivities, prom planning, celebrating dads, weddings, and summertime cook-outs. I never think of June as a holiday month, but I have come to realize I am either hosting or attending an event every weekend in June. With a busy work schedule, the idea of running to multiple shops to buy gifts, food platters, desserts, decorations, cards, florals, fresh meats, and alcohol….. sounds like a nightmare.
