Events: DC's Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry on April 8th


Want to help end childhood hunger in America? You do not want to miss this event in April! This year’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry is on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the National Building Museum. Last year, D.C.’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry raised enough to connect hungry kids in need with up to 2.5 million healthy meals. The annual tasting event will feature gourmet cuisine and libations crafted by the city’s hottest chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists, uniting to raise funds to ensure all children in America have access to the healthy food they need, every day!! One-hundred-percent of proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America.

Get Your Tickets to the Citi Taste of Tennis!


My favorite event of the year is HERE! On July 30, premier culinary and tennis event, Citi Taste of Tennis, is serving up tennis stars and award-winning D.C. chefs for a night of food and fun at Hamilton Live! Coinciding with the Citi Open Tournament, Citi Taste of Tennis will be the official Citi Open Player Party benefitting the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation. Highlights of the event include an exciting cooking demonstration with Celebrity Chef Edward Lee and world No. 5 and Wimbledon finalist, Kevin Anderson.

The Nation’s Premier Craft Beer and Food Pairing Event, SAVOR, presented by the Brewers Association (BA), will take place in Washington DC again this year on June 1st and June 2nd! In its 11th year, SAVOR is bringing together more small and independent craft brewers than ever before—90 to be exact—for DC foodies to indulge in.  This is one of Capital Cooking's favorite events of the year.  If you are a beer lover, you've got to go!

Returning to the atrium at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, the Embassy Chef Challenge is bringing together chefs from 30 different embassies to showcase delicious dishes from around the globe.

Gavin Kaysen, Vikram Sunderam, José Andrés, and Other Famous Chefs at MetroCooking DC Event



This weekend, dozens of awarding-winning Chefs came together to perform cooking demos and taste talks at the Walter E. Convention Center in Washington D.C. Named one of the biggest culinary events of the year, MetroCooking DC invited over 20 well-known chefs and exhibited more than 50 local D.C. restaurants to try. This foodie-extravaganza also promoted dozens of breweries, wineries, and distilleries by featuring their signature drinks to sip on and had over 100 local food specialty vendor areas to taste and shop at!

Events: Eat Spain Up! Washington D.C. Events from Sept. 21 till October 29th


On Thursday, September 21st Eat Spain Up!, a program and gallery that explores Spanish regions and brings together the food and culture of Spain to Washington D.C., opened to the public at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain. Through the month of October, Washington D.C. audiences have the opportunity to dive into Spanish culture, culinary traditions, and new gastronomic innovations. The events this month explore Spain through its food, and is accompanied by two visual exhibits by renowned graphic designer and artist Manuel Estrada.
