Uncorked: Wine for Women Equality

Women are more engaged, energized and resolute than ever. All eyes are on the future, and women (and like-minded men) are rallying for women’s empowerment and advancement. In their honor, emBRAZEN, a new set of California wines launched on Women’s Equality Day (the anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote), and hope you will join us in nominating female trailblazers as part of emBRAZEN’s Take Up The Torch initiative which will grant one woman $25,000 in support of her cause.

Sugar Bowl Bakery Has Launched A New Must-Try Pastry!


The incredible Vietnamese-immigrant Family-Owned Bakery has launched a delicious new product – Button Cakes – and you don't want to miss it! You may recognize this brand for getting a shout out in 2013 by Obama when he was giving an example to a crowd about a successful immigration story. The company was founded in 1984 by five immigrant brothers as a small neighborhood coffee shop, and today is one of the leaders in developing delicious, high-quality baked goods.

I know my sweet mom would prepare all six of her children individualized lunches every day before school and she always tried to mix things up. A new spot has opened up on the Capital Riverfront for you to get your pizza and beer fix: All Purpose Pizzeria. The delicious Italian-American Restaurant first opened up in Shaw, and in 2016 won No. 1 Favorite D.C. Restaurant in the Washington Post Fall Dining Guide.
