I am always looking for a new spot to brunch with my girls. Chef Ype has outdone himself at his modern farm-to-table diner with an incredible all day brunch menu!

We had an incredible night at the 36th Annual RAMMY Awards Gala! Guests in ballgowns and black ties gathered to celebrate the ever-evolving local food community of Washington D.C.

The 2018 RAMMY Finalists have been announced! 

Dining Out: Del Mar, NEW Chef Fabio and Maria Trabocchi Restaurant on the Wharf

Famous D.C. Italian Chef Fabio Trabocchi of Casa Luca (named after his son Luca), Sfoglina, Fiola Mare, and Fiola has opened up Del Mar with his wife Maria to celebrate her Spanish heritage and family traditions. Located on the District Wharf, Del Mar serves traditional Spanish dishes and authentic seafood fare with a luxurious and modern twist. Walking into Del Mar, I was immediately transported back to Spain, as if sitting on a patio along the gran via of Madrid eating patatas bravas and drinking wine. 

The RAMMYS Award Winners

On Sunday, July 29th the 35th Annual RAMMY Awards was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Guests in beautiful ballgowns and black ties gathered to celebrate the local food community of Washington D.C. The Awards Gala recognized chefs, restaurants, and food service professionals in 21 different categories.

DC has some great brunch spots.  Here are some of my favorites:

The Pig's Shrimp and Chorizo Hash with Duck Eggs is divine!  Every dish we tried was totally tasty.  The Bloody Mary cocktails are made with cucumber infused vodka and house-made mix.  They taste like gazpacho in a glass.  Yum!  The French toast is OMG-good, but also super rich so might be best to share.  I love their Fried Green Tomatoes with Rabbit Confit.  The entire menu leaves your mouth watering.
