Foodie and The Beast at Carmine's
Carmine's hosted a fantastic recording of Foodie and the Beast this Sunday with a star-filled line up of guests. Hosted by David and Nycci Nellis, the show was lively and a excellent start to my Sunday. Viewers were able to sample Carmine's legendary fare, specialty beers, mimosas and fantastically spicy bloody marys. A star filled line up of chefs and brewmasters were in attendance including Mike Isabella and Spike Mendelsohn.

Carmine's: Think Big!
So excited to have Carmine's as a new addition to DC! We recently checked it out and I was quite impressed by the affordability. That's a change from most of the new restaurants opening lately. Emily and I joined Kelly Collis, CityShopGirl.com and TBD.com, Laura Powell, travel writer, contributor, DailySuitcase.com, Mary Kong, GirlMeetsFood.com, McLean Robbins, Deacon Does DC, writer for too many publications to list, Lisa Amore, PR genius and Jill Collins.

Keep the Restaurants Coming: Carmine's Opens Tomorrow
Carmines, the legendary New York family style Italian eateries, opens the largest restaurant in Washington DC on Tuesday, August 3rd. Located at 425 7 Street NW, between D&E Streets, the restaurant encompasses 20,030 square-feet and will seat 700 guests. Independently owned by the Alicart Restaurant Group, Carmine’s DC has a 40 seat wrap-around bar and a 50 seat lounge along with nine rooms for private dining.
Designed by Bill Johnson Studios, in the nostalgic signature of the New York Carmine’s, the DC restaurant’s décor has walls strewn with black and white photographs depicting Italian American families surrounded by hanging chandeliers and large white-clothed tables. Private dining rooms are outfitted with their own thermostat, flat screen televisions and media controls. The new Carmine’s is ideal for professionals on-the-go, equipped with all the technological capabilities of the office, like Wi-Fi and USB ports in the lounge area – not to mention some great Italian dishes on the side.
The menu as in all Carmine’s, is broadcast on large boards placed in various locations throughout the restaurant and filled with favorites that diners have come to know and love. Big, bold platters of food, made from the highest quality ingredients, arrive at the table and elicit the same wide-eyed reaction from first timers as well as seasoned diners of all ages recalling the simple pleasures of family style dining. A nine-inch high Eggplant Parmigiana makes the table ooh and ahh. Linguini, rigatoni, angel hair, spaghetti, with everything from red or white clam sauce to marinara, topped with homemade meatballs, sausage or mixed seafood. Chicken dishes from scarpariella to saltimbocca, veal parmigiana to veal marsala, and seafood from scampi to fra diavolo are just a few examples from the all-day menu. As far as dessert goes, how about Italian cheesecake, chocolate covered cannoli, and of course, the smoothest Tiramisu in town.
Can't wait to get a taste!
