Dupont Circle's La Tomate recently introduced a new casual concept adjacent to its current space. It is surprising to admit that this was the first time I visited the establishment that originally opened in 1987.
You can't go wrong with the fresh burrata topped with roasted eggplant pesto.
Don't miss the Erbazzone with Swiss chard, pancetta, onions, Parmesan cheese and eggs. So good!

All of the food we tasted was solid and I'm now sorry that I hadn't visited the restaurant sooner. If you're like me, you may have thought this was a touristy spot because of its location, but I think you'll be pleased. The desserts are even tasty.

So if you're in the area, stop by for some casual treats!
