Thinking of Drinking: NY Apple

What goes better with lamb than whiskey?  I had some fun playing around with Hudson Manhattan Rye Whiskey last weekend and came up with this delicious cocktail.  For all of the ladies out there who aren't inherently whiskey fans, please give this a try.  Hudson whiskey is so smooth and tastes so nice with these apple flavors.  Cheers!

1 shot Hudson Manhattan Rye Whiskey
1/2 ounce Cinnamon Simple Syrup (Recipe Below)
1 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce ginger liqueur
1/2 ounce honey liqueur
1 ounce Diep 9 Apple Genever
Dash Peychaud's Bitters

Combine all ingredients in a shaker full of ice.  Strain into a martini glass.
Cinnamon Simple Syrup

2 cups sugar
2 cups water
2 cinnamon sticks
Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves and then remove from heat. Add cinnamon sticks and cool. Store in a clear glass bottle or jar with a tight fitting lid in the refrigerator.
