At the Tap: Presidents' Day Beer Fest

After two days of snow and one sappy holiday (Valentine's Day), it was clear that the natives were restless... and Drink the District's Presidents Day Beer Fest couldn't have come at a better time.  The two day beer tasting event with 4 three hour tasting sessions featured over 50 beers on tap, live music and food trucks.

While the decor sort of reminded me of hanging out in a friend's garage mixed with a frat party vibe, the sheer amount of beer tasting options made it that much better.  Notable taps included DC Brau, Port City Brewing, Rogue, Blue Jacket and 3 Stars Brewing (in addition to many more).

After much sampling, I settled on my favorite picks of they day -- DC Brau and 3 Stars Brewing.  I loved 3 Stars'  Peppercorn Saison, which was a nice refreshing treat with all the winter brews and stouts on tap.

Despite the snow and freezing weather, I ventured outside to get some food (required for afternoon beer drinking).  Nothing goes better with beer than some tasty pork barbeque, care of Carnivore BBQ food truck.  Too bad it almost froze as I was taking this picture.

The perfect event to celebrate a three day weekend, the Presidents Day Beer Fest was a great way to sample so many of DC's finest brews.
