First Taste: Rialto

Rialto recently opened in a beautiful historic building in the prestigious Georgetown neighborhood. The restaurant serves top-of-the-line Italian cuisine and upscale atmosphere.

The restaurant is brought to you by the guys behind thunder burger and bar and bodega Spanish tapas and lounge.  We tasted a variety of dishes throughout the evening, starting with the pancetta wrapped shrimp, fried risotto fritters, and mushroom pizza.  Next up was the with ricotta, olives tomato butter, and a white bean spread.  Wait, there's more! Then we tried that prosciutto salami, the formaggi platter, and brick oven mixed olives skillet.  We are already stuffed but onto the second course.
A seafood medley in a light citrus vinaigrette, then a classic eggplant Ragout and toasted pine nuts,
traditional bread salad with tomato basil red onions and a balsamic vinaigrette,
Burrata cheese and zucchini ribbons, and fresh fried anchovies.  Everything was so delicious, that it is hard to pick a favorite!
The third course we tried the house-made cheese ravioli with sage butter and the risotto Alla Milanese.  That's still wasn't it!
For the fourth Course we tryed the seared diver scallops with a balsamic reduction, Seared monkfish with olives and sun-dried tomato butter, grilled the cuttlefish and Ink sauce, and grilled asparagus with truffle butter and Pecorino cheese.  And then we tried the fifth course of a roasted rosemary crusted rack of lamb with lentils spinach and fingerling potatoes.  So stuffed!!  I always have room for dessert.
We tried the Rialto trio with a semifreddo chocolate terrine and fried chocolate hazelnut ravioli with Zabaglione cream sauce.  I really like the style of this place and the food was terrific. So the next time you're in Georgetown, head into Rialto for taste of Italy.
