Thursday, January 23 -- A Seasonal Beer and Chocolate Tasting with the Beer Activist: Don't let the snow and cold keep things chilled. Warm up with a beer and chocolate tasting with Chris O’Brien, the Beer Activist at Sixth and I starting at 7pm. Chris will lead guests through an interactive beer and chocolate pairing featuring the delectable Divine Chocolates. Learn from local brewers and chocolatiers while enjoying a variety of local beers and chocolates. And get a head start on the perfect treats for Valentine's Day. The sixth annual Sips and Suppers will take place January 25th and January 26th, 2014. The city’s leading culinary fundraiser, the two-day event highlights food and drink from over sixty nationally renowned chefs, artisans, mixologists, brewers and viticulturists. Looking to start 2014 off with a beer dinner? Then look no further than Smoke & Barrel’s first beer dinner of the year to be held on Monday, January 27, featuring Kansas City’s Boulevard Brewing Company. The dinner will be 5 courses, with each course paired with a different Boulevard Brewing Company beer. The dinner will feature courses such as BBQ Pork Egg Rolls paired with a Pop-Up Session IPA (not normally available in the DC area) and Smoked Prime Rib with Green Peppercorn Cream Sauce paired with an Imperial Stout. Zaytinya will teach a cooking class on Tuesday, January 28th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, which is priced at $55 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) and includes food and beverage. They will demonstrate three recipes that the guests will be served with a paired beverage.
