20th Annual Taste of Georgetown Highlights

By Claire Goldman

The Annual Taste of Georgetown event is a delicious excuse to get outside each summer.  On June 2nd,  26 of the neighborhood's top restaurants hit the tents along Wisconsin Avenue.  Georgetown staples, J. Paul's served up Oysters on the Half Shell and neighborhood newbies El Centro offered Beef Barbacoa Tacos with Brisket, Pico de Gallo and Crema Fresca.

My top pick this year was the Chicken Pad Thai from Bangkok Joe's.  This dish is always a crowd pleaser and the Joe must know it because their tent had velvet ropes set up to keep the hungry visitors in check.

A visit to Taste of Georgetown wouldn't be complete without and extended stop off at the Craft Beer and Wine Pavilion.  Thirsty patrons hand over their tickets and enjoy a plethora of wines, ciders and beers while looking over the Potomac River just at the bottom of the hill.
