Restaurant Review: Cork

I can knock one off of the list of restaurants I want to try. We had the opportunity to eat at Cork last week and the food was excellent. We did have quite a long wait, but it was fun to chat with friends and try different reds from their wine list. The menu is tapas style, so you may need to order a few. Chef Ron Tanaka, former sous chef with CityZen and Citronelle, runs the kitchen. Maybe Tanaka would like to be a guest on Capital Cooking and demonstrate the Pernod braised lamb. The Avocado, pistachios, toasted pistachio oil, sea salt, grilled bread was my favorite. We also loved the scallops. The atmosphere is lively.

The great thing is that it is located in my new neighborhood. We moved on Wednesday and we were greeted by the local thief stealing both of our brief cases with plenty of personal information and valuables:( Hopefully it will get better from here once we get our stuff unpacked and settled. The new kitchen is fantastic! We will film our first episode on the new set on Sunday, November 2. Can't wait!! Also looking forward to trying the wide selection of restaurants around the area.
