Recipe: Indian Rice Pudding (Elaichi Kheer)


This is a lovely dessert because it isn't too sweet.  Enjoy!


From the Bombay Club

7 ounces rice
2 quarts milk
1 pint heavy cream
2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder.

Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes. Boil the milk. Cook Rice on medium until it is very soft. Add cream and sugar and cook until it becomes thick. Then add cardamom powder. Take it off the heat. Chill and serve
