A great summer tradition, the 8th Annual National Harbor Wine & Food Festival, returned to the National Harbor Waterfront to celebrate wine and food in the Nation's Capital. It was a great day to hang out on the banks of the Potomac River and enjoy sips of wine, beer and other spirits while enjoying the sunshine.
The event was so much more than just a tasting, and brought together award winning celebrity chefs, artisanal craftsmen, culinary pioneers, smooth jazz, as well as wine and spirits from around the world. A crowd favorite was Mercer's Wine Ice Cream, offering eight wine ice cream flavors such as Cherry Merlot, Chocolate Cabernet, Peach White Zinfandel. What a great way to combine two of my favorite things in to one!
The festival included over 150 International wines, spirits and beers featured along with local and regional favorites. Festival attendees lined up to try new wines and beers.... all in search of a new wine to take home and enjoy with friends.
All in all, it was great day out on the Potomac River to enjoy tastings of wine, beer and spirits, check out celebrity chef demonstrations, and bask in the sunshine. Cheers to another year of success!
