Living Social and Target Sign Leases with Douglas Development

Douglas Development just announced that both Living Social and Target have signed leases for Douglas Development-owned properties in Washington, DC’s Chinatown. The quickly expanding DC-based online coupon website Living Social will occupy 12,500 square feet at 718 Seventh Street, NW.  Around the corner, Target will occupy 5,500 square feet in the new class A trophy building at 1155 F Street, NW.

Living Social currently has offices in two other Douglas Development-owned properties; the company occupies more than 10,000 square feet at 829 Seventh Street, NW, and 12,500 square feet at 702 H Street, NW. Its third office is under construction and will be completed by late January 2011.

Douglas Development’s Executive Vice President/Principal Norman Jemal recently commented on Living Social’s multiple offices in an interview with Washington Business Journal, explaining, “being next door and across the street from one another gives it an urban campus environment.” Jemal continues, “Access to the metro is great and it really delivers the kind of environment that they’re looking for.”

Additionally, Target has chosen to relocate its government affairs office to the newly constructed trophy quality building at 1155 F Street, NW, where Target will occupy 5,500 square feet. Target is the latest addition to the building, which is occupied predominantly by government affairs, healthcare, and law offices, including Novo Nodisk, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, Intel, Home Depot, and Facebook. The building’s unbeatable location and high-end mix of retail and office tenants make 1155 F Street, NW one of the hottest addresses in the District.
