Out to Brunch: Pearl Dive Oyster Palace

Initial Thoughts:
  • Food: Traditional New Orleans Cuisine
  • Drinks: Classy Mimosas and Awesome Bloody Marys
  • Service:  Good
  • Would I go back?  Yes.
Craving a taste of New Orleans?  Head into Pearl Dive Oyster Palace for their traditional New Orleans cuisine with an a la carte brunch available Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  For starters, guests can sample fresh made doughnuts, pots of mussels and brunch cocktails.  I loved the glassware for the Mimosas and Corey thought the Bloody Mary was one of the top in the city.
The brunch special with pork belly, poached eggs, avocado and beans was amazing.  We think it should be added as a staple to the menu.
The Pontchartrain was insanely good and has to be one of the best brunch dishes in DC.  Sink your teeth into Two Poached Farm Eggs, English Muffin, Blue Crab, Tasso, Crawfish, and Cayenne Hollandaise.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.  Also, don't leave without ordering their Pumpkin Pie!  It is lightly-spiced pumpkin filling topped with butter streusel in a flaky pie crust. So good!
They're actually hosting a Thanksgiving Day Pie Sale of homemade pies TO-GO on Tuesday, November 20th and Wednesday, November 21st.  Pearl Dive’s Pastry Chef Ashley Soto is baking a selection of five classic American pies with a Southern twist; each serves six to eight people.  She is also making Addie’s Dinner Rolls, available by the dozen, to complement Thanksgiving dinner.  Orders can be placed beginning November 5th by calling (202) 319-1612 and must be received and pre-paid for by Monday, November 19th.  Cancellations require a 24-hour notice for a full refund.  The baked goods will be available for pickup at Pearl Dive Oyster Palace on Tuesday, November 20th and Wednesday, November 21st from 2 PM to 11 PM.  Pearl Dive Oyster Palace will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Pick from:  Key Lime Pie, Pumpkin, Brazos River Bottom Pecan Pie, Kentucky Derby Pie or Peanut Butter Black Bottom Pie.

Grab a pie for Thanksgiving and stop in soon for brunch.  Loved it!
