There's nothing better than a sweet, and perfectly ripe tomato. I learned some grilling tips last week with Chef Dan Giusti at 1789 in DC and he shared his first batch of tomatoes from the farm. The season has just begun! Try this Shepherd's Salad for some Turkish flavors.
Shepherd's Salad
1/2 cup cucumber, diced
2 fresh tomatoes, diced
1 pepper, diced
1/2 red onion, diced
1/4 cup fresh mint
2 tsp lemon juice
2-3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 feta cheese, crumbled
Salt
Pepper

Place first five ingredients a medium size salad bowl. Add salt and pepper to liking. Add the feta, lemon juice and olive oil.
