The beautiful fall day began with getting picked up in a stretch Hummer limo. We were off to a great adventure to the Virginia Wineries.
We thought ahead and packed some mimosas for the drive out.

First stop: Corcoran Vineyards
Corcoran not only served us my favorite wines of the day, but they also had Monks BBQ and Corcoran Brewing Company. The Benevino Riesling is perfect for a warm fall day and can work as a meal starter wine for Thanksgiving. I loved the Apple wine made from a variety of local apples (tastes similar to apple cider beer). Corcoran even makes their own limoncello. Their version is made with petit Manseng wine infused with lemon-zested spirits. Other highlights: Rose, Chambourcin (the Pinot Noir of the East), Raspberry Merlot, and the USB Port.
Corcoran teamed up with Monks BBQ to offer a variety of unique lunch
offerings. The Carolina Pulled Pork and Ribs dipped in sauces made from Virginia
wines is delicious. I can't stop thinking about those yummy fried pickles.
The trip wouldn't be complete without a taste of what's brewing at the Corcoran Brewing Company. My favorite was the Padawan Pumpkin. They use pumpkins from local farms, honey and traditional pumpkin pie spices to make this fall favorite.
Next stop: Hillsborough Vineyards
Hillsborough Vineyards has breathtaking views of the hills with the colors of the autumn leaves. Hillsborough
Vineyards is a family owned vineyard and winery specializing in the
small batch production of complex wines that are in harmony with Virginia. They have great outdoor seating.
Last stop: Sunset Hills Vineyard
Sunset Hills has the most beautiful tasting room Amish restored historic barn. The vineyard also offers spectacular
mountain and sunset views and patio seating.
So grab your friends and replicate this trip. There's still plenty of lovely fall weekends to enjoy.
Special thank you to Visit Loudon for organizing such an amazing trip.
