A Night at Bistro Vivant

Hanger Steak and Frites
My mom recently came to DC to visit and we headed out to Bistro Vivant in a Ford Escape.  This car offers comfort and class.  (More about the Ford Below) Bistro Vivant is located in McLean, but it is well worth the drive out.

Everyday at Bistro Vivant, a member of the team updates the blackboard with the new French specialties of the day.  The evening brought a lot of firsts for my mom.  She tasted her first beets.  She was pleasantly surprised with their sweet fresh flavor paired with the goat cheese.
She tried her first foie gras over pasta.  She was blown away!
She tried her first octopus.  The whole time she was giggling like a school girl wondering how she had go so far in life without getting a taste of these phenomenal foods.  It was so fun to see my mom's reactions to the dishes.
Our favorite of the evening was the hanger steak and frites.  I know it is a classic, but not every restaurant does it right.  Bistro Vivant served up extremely tender meat with perfectly cooked frites.
And then there was cheesecake and a chocolate fudge brownie.  OMG.  So good!!
Aykan Demiroglu paired all of the courses with the best wine selections and made our evening absolutely lovely.  Thanks Aykan!  Can't wait to return the next time my mom comes for a visit.
Bistro Vivant is located in the Langley Shopping Center at 1394 Chain Bridge Road in McLean, VA, 22101. Lunch is served Monday through Sunday from 11:30 AM to 4 PM. Dinner is available Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 10 PM, Saturday from 4 PM to 10:30 PM and Sunday 4 PM to 9:30 PM. For reservations or additional information, please call (703) 356-1700 or visit www.bistrovivant.com.

The Ford Escape was equipped with SYNC® with MyFord Touch®, offering multiple ways to manage and control information through voice commands, menus accessed through controls on the steering wheel, touch screens, buttons or knobs. Upgraded system includes new look, making phone, navigation, entertainment and climate controls even easier to use.

Parallel parking the Escape is virtually stress-free with active park assist. With the press of a button, the system detects an available parallel parking space and automatically steers the vehicle into the space.

Maneuvering parking lots and traveling open roadways becomes even safer and less stressful with Escape’s sensor-based BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert.  BLIS displays an alert in the side mirror when a vehicle is detected entering a blind spot.  Cross-traffic alert warns if traffic is detected approaching from the sides, such as when Escape is leaving a parking space in reverse.

The all-new Ford Escape is the first Ford SUV to combine class-exclusive technology to automatically slow the vehicle when it’s cornering too fast (Curve Control) or help accelerate through a turn (Torque Vectoring Control); a new Intelligent 4WD System helps deliver outstanding handling on pristine pavement and in adverse conditions as well, along with excellent traction off-road.

I loved driving this car.  If you're in the market for an SUV, check it out!
