Dîner en Blanc will take over Washington’s public space for the first time this summer on Thursday, September 4, 2014. This très chic picnic, imported from Paris, is equal parts mystery tour, pop-up feast and je ne sais quoi. Over the course of the evening, the diners enhance the function and value of their city’s public space by participating in the unexpected. Hope to see you there!

Dogs invited! Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market invites you and your furry friend to a Wealth, Wags and Wine event at their Alexandria Market Location THIS Friday from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Enjoy an afternoon filled with free giveaways, music, gourmet dog treats, grilling and wine tasting!

New outdoor concerts will be presented in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden as a prelude to the upcoming concert season. Inspired by the beloved summer tradition of Jazz in the Garden, concerts take place at noon and 1:00 p.m. on Sundays during the month of September. Watch summer turn to fall while enjoying live music and a delicious brunch menu at the Pavilion Café. Served from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m., the tempting menu includes scrambled eggs with chives, breakfast pizza, granola and yogurt parfait, fresh fruit, mimosas, and more! On September 7, the U.S. Air Force Strings will play 19th-century French and American music in honor of Degas/Cassatt.

Looking to take a day off work, play a little golf, and benefit the Children’s National Health System? Then look no further than the Metro DC Area 2014 Golf Classic being held on Monday, September 8. Hosted by Morton’s, the $199 per player fee includes green fees, golf cart, gift bag, continental breakfast, boxed lunch, awards reception, and dinner at Morton’s The Steakhouse in Reston Town Center. Morton's The Steakhouse will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Children's National Health System. This event begins at 8:00am with registration and breakfast. On September 9, 2014, a group of Virginia's most lauded chefs will showcase Virginia's agricultural cuisine at a six-course Virginia Rising Stars Dinner hosted at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City.
