Thursday, Sept 25: Fall Harvest Dinner with Chef Grace Lichaa -Join “Chop’t” Chef Grace Lichaa for a night of farm to table food for a great cause on Thursday, September 25. She’ll prepare a savory, four course menu made with seasonal ingredients to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. The dinner will feature two starters and vegetarian-friendly and gluten-free friendly options. 9/27: This fall, during the Barracks Row Fall Festival, matchboxfoodgroup will host a beer garden in the lot across the street from their Capitol Hill location on 8th Street. matchbox, Ted's BULLETIN, and DC-3 will offer an array of Oktoberfest-themed grub beside local favorites Cava Mezze, Belga Café, and B Too. In addition to food, guests can enjoy live music and craft brews. That same day, starting at 6 am, 16 teams of active duty armed forces chefs representing all military branches, will battle it out in a mystery ingredient cooking competition, putting their culinary skills to the test in front of the Marine Barracks. Hosted by Military Hospitality Alliance, this contest is designed to introduce budding gastronomic experts to the community and ease the transition from military enrollment to civilian employment. This year, for the first time in the 11 years the competition has taken place, matchboxfoodgroup will offer the winning team's captain a prized position in one of their kitchens. The awards will be presented at 4pm; teams are also eligible to win cash prizes, medals and gifts.

Trucktoberfest is noon to 7 pm Saturday, Sep. 27, at Wheaton Triangle (Reedie Drive and Grandview Avenue). The free festival features DMV food trucks, craft beer garden by The Limerick Pub, live music on The Exchange Soundstage, and kids zone. Trucktoberfest is organized by the DMV Food Truck Association and Wheaton Urban District.

Monday, September 29: Ever wondered how the same dish might pair with beer and spirits? Then join Graffiato on Monday, September 29 as they team up with Devil’s Backbone Brewery and Catoctin Creek Distillery for a beer- and spirits-pairing dinner. Attendees will enjoy a four-course dinner prepared by Chef Jose Adorno and will be accompanied by one Devil’s Backbone beer and one Catoctin Creek spirit. The choice is yours on which you prefer!
