BLT Restaurant Group is launching its signature company-wide happy hour menu at their Washington, DC, downtown power spot, BLT Steak (1625 Eye Street, NW; 202-689-8999; www.bltsteak.com).
Now, guests can get a taste of what launched in New York and has spread almost company wide: BLT's 5 @ 5 Happy Hour. A concept born out of the need for a seat at the bar for an after work cool down, the '5 @ 5' features a unique menu to each BLT Steak location. Everything on the menu is priced at $5 - five menu items each at $5, a beer along with a red and white wine choice are also each $5.
In Washington, DC, Chef Victor Albisu has brought together a menu that is both casual and playful. Keeping in mind the BLT Steak philosophy of a French inspired American steakhouse, Albisu has drawn upon his French training and American bar food, as well as flavors of the region.
The menu includes: BLT Burger Slider Duo with BBQ & Blue Cheese sauce, Grilled Onion & Bearnaise;Fried Oysters with Grilled Bacon and a Horseradish Remoulade; Wild Mushroom Arancini with Housemade Boursin; Truffled Grilled Cheese Sandwich on Brioche with Cheddar; and Crispy Fried Chicken Wings with a Trio of Honey.
In addition to these savory items, quench the palate with a selection of $5 per glass beverages by Sommelier Nicole Saladyga. Perfectly complementing these decadent delights are Stella Artois beer, Cran-Apple Breeze cocktail, Domaine Pellehaut 2009 red wine, and Borgo M 2008 Pinot Grigio white wine.
