Thinking of Drinking: Last Exit

By Claire Goldman

Last Exit, located inside Tonic Mount Pleasant, proves that the art of Mixology is that, art.  The vested experts standing on the opposite side of the bar, shake, drizzle, muddle and pestle their way to perfection in a glass.  The new Fall Drink Menu at Last Exit includes very interesting infusions, craft cocktails and hot drinks.

Jack Rose:
Glassware:  Chilled cocktail glass

2 oz Boulard Calvados
1/2 oz lime juice
1/2 oz spiced grenadine

Shake ingredients with ice.  Double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  No garnish.

Fizz Bang
Glassware:  Chilled Collins glass

1 1/2 oz Old Overholt Rye Whiskey
3/4 oz lemon juice
1/2 oz Fernet Branca
1/2 oz simple syrup
1 egg white
4 oz Gosling's Ginger Beer

Dry shake ingredients.  Then shake with ice.  Double strain into a chilled Collins glass.  Add Gosling's Ginger Beer.

Writer's note:  the Pigs in a Blanket make an excellent addition to your crafty cocktails.
