A Thanksgiving Menu for a Small Crowd with Wine Pairings
One year my family was set to come to town, but couldn't at the last minute. We didn't want to make a whole turkey for the two of us (at the time), but we wanted the Thanksgiving flavors. I came up with this menu so we could get a little taste of turkey and all the yummy sides. Enjoy!

Spring Menu Planning
This year we worked with Lovettsville's Spring House Farm to put together a fantastic spring meal. Their meat is all pasture-raised and grass-fed as much as possible. They are most famous for their pork which gets it's amazing flavor while the pigs are roaming the farm's mountain lands feasting on mushrooms, grubs and even snakes, just like they would do in the wild. We could taste the freshness of the product and we were delighted to pair the meal with some amazing wines.

Menu Planning: Fall Feast
Happy Fall! We celebrated the season with a menu worth sharing. A special thank you for our partners: American Lamb Board, Logan's Sausage, California Figs, San Bernardo Ice Cream. Lamb, figs and sausages are perfect fall ingredients. Logan's Sausage Company is one of my favorites. They have so many varieties and they are great for grilling at parties.

Menu Planning: Baby Birthday Bash
Previously, our fall pairing dinner was an adult-only feast turned drunk fest that lasted late into the evening. (With 10-12 guests) This year's fall feast was a little different than the past. This year we celebrated the first birthday of #babycapcook with 35 adults and 10 baby friends.

Planning a Birthday Party
A few years ago, my friend Katie and I were talking and we realized our husbands' birthdays were only two days apart. We decided, why not throw a joint birthday party?

Menu Planning: Autumn Dinner
Harvey's Market has a vast selection of locally raised meat. It is conveniently located in Union Market. We recently checked out some of their products to create a delicious fall menu to share. Their featured local meats are raised naturally. “Natural” means the animal led a truly natural life filled with sunshine, access to fresh water, plenty of room to roam and space where normal animal behavior can be expressed. That natural life doesn't include any use of unnecessary antibiotics, added growth hormones or consumption of animal by-products, making the meat naturally tender and full of flavor. We had a blast dining with my cousins and friends. Recreate this menu at home and enjoy!
