901 Restaurant and Bar is this summer's hot location for great happy hour specials daily from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM and again from 10:00 PM to midnight. See and be seen while enjoying great cocktails and appetizers all on special. The expansive outdoor patio seats 55, the largest in Penn Quarter and allows patrons to enjoy the outside ambiance in this excellent downtown location.
The patio launch party was a huge success, with appetizer and drink specials. Guests sampled 901's craft beers like the 901 Lager and specialty cocktails. The happy hour features beer for $4, red and white wines for $5 and mixed drinks for $6.
Those who prefer mixed drinks to beer will not be disappointed. Known for its cocktails, 901 Restaurant and Bar quenches thirst with margaritas, mojitos and sangria served on the patio all day every day for $6. The pineapple mojito is a must. This refreshing and balanced blend is perfect for humid DC nights. The sangria matches fruit and red wine with cinnamon and other spices for a favor packed punch.
All plates are sharing size making it possibly to try everything on the $5 happy hour menu. You'll want to order a couple to make a meal. It reflects the full dinner menu; this isn't your typical happy hour menu seen at other places. If you get just one, order the Spinach Crisps with Thai basil, Thai chili creme and a watercress relish; these cakes are crispy and great for sharing. One is breaded, the other is flash fried, both are great and the relish completes each bite.
Looking for something heavier? The sliders, a crab cake or Kobe beef appeal to all palates. The crab cakes are made of a curry crab mix with spicy citrus mayo and the Kobe beef sliders come with smoked cheddar cheese and spicy aioli. The sliders are served on toasted buns and go well with the 901 Lager.
Or try the Hoisin Duck Roll dipped in the wasabi cilantro sauce or Thai chili creme or the Craft Beer Satays: 901 beer marinated chicken and beef tips with red and yellow peppers and red onions served with a spicy curry peanut sauce. While not super hot, the peanut sauce has a pleasantly unexpected kick. Both dishes are made by the dipping sauces.
901's Patio will be great place to meet friends and coworkers for a unique happy hour after work or for the later crowds after the Nats and Caps games. Be sure to check out their Facebook page for special announcements and deals: https://www.facebook.com/901dc
