Dia De Descanso, meaning Day of Rest in Spanish, is a wonderful combination of grapefruit, saffron, lime and sparkling wine. Adam Bernbach of Estadio combines mojito and sangria styles this punchbowl cocktail that is great for any summer party.
2 parts saffron and grapefruit syrup
1 part Beefeater 24 Gin
1 part lime juice
3 parts sparkling wine
Ladle from a punch bowl with a 5lb block of ice. Garnish with limes, grapefruit and mint.
*Lauren's Tip: You can make the syrup by making a batch of simple syrup and mixing in grapefruit and saffron. Let it sit in a jar for a few days to bring out the flavor.
