Belmont Celebration at the Light Horse: Stop by The Light Horse Restaurant (715 King St. Alexandria, VA) Saturday, June 9, and the race for the Triple Crown! On Saturday, June 9, 2012, in celebration of Bibiana’s upcoming RAMMY nomination for “Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year” Executive Chef Nicholas Stefanelli and General Manager and Beverage Director Francesco Amodeo are welcoming Gilt City guests for a deliciously fun afternoon reception. Black's Bar and Kitchen is hosting a summer BBQ on June 10th to celebrate the grand opening of their Tiki Bar, and announce their partnership with Rappahannock River Oysters, LLC and Dragon Creek Aqua Farm to release two oysters that will be exclusive to Black Restaurant Group.  Guests will enjoy a whole suckling pig along with brunch favorites such as Eggs Pontchartrain, Pineapple Glazed French Toast, BBQ Pork Sliders, as well as assorted Sides and Desserts.  


Cocktails and Confections on June 12th beginning at 7:30 p.m.:  Fresh off being named the James Beard Foundation’s 2012 Rising Star Chef of the Year, talented pastry chef Christina Tosi will be joined by Baltimore’s Chris Ford, recently named Food and Wine’s People’s Best New Pastry Chef, and five of their peers at the first ever Cocktails and Confections DC. The rooftop reception will feature sweet delights and cocktail concoctions with stunning views of the U.S. Capitol and National Mall. Cuba Libre is hosting a "Pop-Up Paladares" cooking series featuring Cuban Chef Alain Rivera Santana of Havana’s Doctor Café, June 12th through 14th.  This is the second is a series of dates for its “Pop-Up Paladares” cooking series with the final guest chef arriving in October 2012.  Chef-Partner Guillermo Pernot has invited Cuban chefs he befriended during his culinary exploration trips to Cuba. The guest chefs collaborate with him to create a four-course prix fixe menu during their visit.  Two seating options are available, one at 6 PM and another at 8:30 PM.  Each of the six featured dinners is priced at $45 per person (beverages, tax and gratuity not included), and is reserved for 40 guests in the Cuba Libre’s private event space, La Galería. 


The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 22nd Annual Taste of Reston - an event featuring two days of restaurants and community vendors, live entertainment on four stages and a Family Fun Zone! This is the largest and most family-friendly event held at the Reston Town Center each year. JUNE 15-16  FRI 3PM-11PM  SAT 12PM-11PM; CARNIVAL CONTINUES ON SUN 10AM-8PM.


2nd Annual Belgian Beer Festival at Et Voila - June 13-17: Et Voila!'s five-day festival will offer beer lovers a multitude of ways to sip, taste, explore and enjoy the rich, unique flavors of Belgian brews including happy hours, daily beer flights and special dishes. Every night during the festival from 5 to 7 p.m., Et Voila will host Belgian Beer Happy Hours, featuring a unique selection of Belgian beers offered for $4 each. For $15, customers can imbibe samplings of three different Belgian beers.

Signaling the beginning of summer, June 23rd and 24th, the Safeway Barbecue Battle is one of Washington’s largest and most unique food and music festivals offering the greater DC-area community and visitors a chance to enjoy some of America’s favorite pastimes in the shadow of the Capitol Building.  The two-day festival includes delicious barbecue and taste treats of all kinds from top vendors, plenty of delicious free food samples and two days of non-stop live entertainment, all surrounding one of the nation’s top barbecue cooking competitions. While entertaining so many food, music and fun-lovers, the Safeway Barbecue Battle has also raised over $1.2 million for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington and donated goods and funds to other area charities over the years.  Get your tickets for only $12.
